Rhett Tierney and Andrew Napoli joined musical forces as middle schoolers in Langhorne, PA, and they’ve been playing music together ever since. The band Looseleaf was born from their love of tight vocal harmonies and music from the 60’s-70’s. In an age of synthetic sound effects and overproduction, Looseleaf prides itself on a no-frills, vintage sound inspired by the blues, classic rock, funk, and reggae.
Over the years, Looseleaf has played all over the Greater Philadelphia Area including venues and events like: Ardmore Music Hall, Underground Arts, Boot & Saddle, Johnny Brenda’s, The Wildwood Blues Festival, Citizen’s Bank Ball Park, and World Café Live. The band notably opened for Questlove at the Pennsbury High, and shared the stage with Bakithi Kumalo (Paul Simon’s bass player most famously featured on the Graceland album).
Originally a trio, the band is now a 4-piece featuring drummer Ryan Lutz and guitarist Kyle Sparkman. Looseleaf’s debut album, Word on the Street, came out in November of 2012, and the band released its sophomore album, Friends, in June 2017. In October 2018, Looseleaf debuted its latest single Mixed Emotion on Fox29’s The Q on Fox.
